T-Tapp is such an amazing exercise program! Not only am I feeling good, dropping inches, losing cellulite, changing the shape of my body, and effecting change in my autoimmune disease, I am actually doing the exercises 3-4 times a week!
That is nothing short of amazing for this wife and mother of four children! My days are filled with homeschooling two children, potty-training a two year old, and nursing a baby every 3 hours, not to mention cooking all our meals from scratch and hosting two Bible Studies a week in our home. I thought I didn't have time to exercise, but I took Teresa's "Yes you can!" as a challenge. I've found that if I put on my exercise clothes when I get up I can often get in the Basic Workout while oatmeal cooks for breakfast. Then I go on with our day, coming back to add more exercises from Total Workout (especially Lunges, Balance, and Thread the Needle) as I am able to during the day. If I'm unable to finish the Total Workout, I don't beat myself up for it; any movement is progress, and I remind myself of Teresa's words: "Less is more with T-Tapp!"
My introduction to T-Tapp was just about a year ago, at the beginning of my second trimester of my fourth pregnancy. I T-Tapped while visiting my mom, and was amazed at how sore my butt and thighs were after just 15 minutes of exercise in the T-Tapp stance. I did Basic Workout Plus three times a week up to my ninth month, and felt that it helped me feel great and become the strongest ever in pregnancy.
At three months post-partum, I began to T-Tapp again, this time adding in some moves from the Total Workout. In the 5 weeks leading up to Christmas, I dropped over 17 inches doing this workout every other day. By the time the January Jumpstart began at the end of January, I was ready to add the full Total Workout in a couple times per week, and do the Basic Workout Plus a few other times per week. I also tried to skin brush at least once every day to smooth cellulite on my thighs and tighten the loose skin on my tummy.
I was delighted to find that the inches continued to drop during this month! My baby is now 6 months old, and I am my pre-pregnancy size, although I am a few pounds heavier on the scale since my weight is now muscle rather than fat. This is the earliest I have returned to my pre-pregnancy size! However, I'm not stopping here; my plan is to T-Tapp myself to my best body ever in this year!
I entered the Health Improvement category because I have an autoimmune thyroid disease called Hashimotos, which flared up again post-partum. I manage my hypothyroid condition with prescription thyroid hormone and diet, however, there is not much that can be done when an autoimmune disease flares up. Some of the symptoms of this condition are debilitating fatigue and swollen glands. Doing T-Tapp has helped me with both of these symptoms: I feel my best and have the most energy on the days that I T-Tapp, and have noticed two swollen glands in my groin and my swollen thyroid return to normal size through the lymphatic pumping in these exercises. In addition, women with hypothyroidism find it difficult to lose weight/inches no matter how much they exercise (if they have the energy!) because their metabolisms are so slow. Thank you, thank you, Teresa, for developing these exercises which really work to boost metabolism and fat burning in those of us who have weight loss resistant bodies.
Not only has T-Tapp made me feel better, I have bloodwork that shows a dramatic improvement in the autoimmune side of this disease. After my third pregnancy my antibody count soared over 1000 (it should be as low as possible, preferably under 35), slowly came down to 938 at seven months post-partum, and then returned to my "normal" 200 at ten months post-partum. This time, my antibodies rose to 613 and have already fallen to 446 at six months post-partum. I am excited to have a much more mild post-partum reaction, and to be returning to normal faster as well. T-Tapp exercise is now an important part of managing my thyroid disease.
So when I've achieved my best body ever, and calmed down my Hashimoto's flare, will I continue to T-Tapp? Yes, absolutely yes! Even if I never had these benefits, I would T-Tapp for the energy it gives me. From Chronic Fatigue to Chronic Fantastic: I'm a T-Tapper for life!
