Average to Lose + Health Improvements - Under 50 Category

Heidi P.

My name is Heidi Pilcher, I am 47 years old, a wife and mother of three children. This was my first T-Tapp challenge, and I will attempt to share with you all of the amazing benefits that I have received in one short month!

First of all was my blood pressure. When I started the challenge, my blood pressure was regularly in the mid- to high-140s over the mid- to high-80s. It was considered Stage 1 hypertension, and I really didn't want to go on blood pressure medicine, but it kept creeping up. I knew if I didn't do something to get it under control that medication is exactly what would happen. Well, I was pleasantly shocked to find that after only four workouts it started dropping into the mid-130s over 60s, 70s. Seven days later it dropped to the 120s over 60s and 70s. It just got better from there, it is now consistently in the normal/healthy range of less than 120/80, and I could not be happier. I am no longer afraid of what they call the "Silent Killer".

Then there was the headache problem and neck and shoulder pain. I've always been very headache-prone. Whenever I felt stress I would get one, or for no apparent reason I would get one. If I slept on my back I would wake up with one. You get the point, lots of headaches. And they didn't go away until I was able to go to sleep, so that led to a lot of painful days and a not-so-fun wife and mom. I regularly tried to hide my headaches from my kids so they didn't always hear, "Quiet please, Mom has another headache." I can now report that I've only had about three all month! I have been doing extra shoulder rolls and neck stretches, and they're working so I'm staying with it.

Next was the lower back pain that came along when my children did. After my second or third child, I guess I was lifting wrong or too much or too often. I'm not real sure when the pain first happened, it was just there—a lot. I went to physical therapy for it, which helped a bit, but the T-Tapp principles of tucking your butt and lifting your ribs and the primary back stretch has strengthened my core and really relieved that lower back pain!

And last was the ability to stick with the workouts without getting hurt! I must say I have never been a big fan of exercise and have not been able to stick with any exercise programs, even simple walking, due to injuries. Now I understand how I kept injuring my knees while doing such a basic thing as walking (duck feet and pushing off with the big toe), and I now feel like it won't be a problem since I have the knowledge and have seen and felt the results. I've also been to physical therapy for the neck pain, and it did help, but not as much as this month of T-Tapping has.

These results completely blew my mind! How could the body improve so quickly with T-Tapp? I am thrilled with all of the results and can you believe there is more? Oh my the inch loss! I did not measure my progress at all after the initial date and was hoping for a 12 –14 inch loss. When the total number of 24-1/8th inches was added up and then double checked, I was more than amazed and thrilled! I am inspired to keep up the program and have been sharing my testimony with friends and family, especially a few which have health concerns and pain like me, because I can relate and want to help them get out of that pain. I love the way you can sneak simple T-Tapp movements in throughout the day. I would be so thrilled if I were picked as one of the winners and able to work out with Teresa and the other winners and trainers!

When I found out about the challenge, I searched for a trainer that I could try to work out with and get form tips from, but there wasn't one close enough to me to make that work. So I found Jennifer Klever on the T-Tapp web site, a trainer in Minnesota who was offering a long distance coaching class that ran along with the challenge. She was wonderful, and she got me started with the "MORE Rehab" workout to help my knees, back and shoulder. Then she had me work my way up to the "MORE at Home" workout on the same DVD and then eventually to the "Basic Workout Plus," some "Step Away" (very carefully), and "Tempo Lower Body" on the floor. I enjoyed the variety of workouts, I found T-Tapp easy to incorporate into my schedule, and seeing the fast results and health benefits was very motivational.

During the middle to end of the challenge I had to find my mom a new personal care home to move into, took her to at least four medical appointments and two surgeries at two different hospitals, which took several full days. She lives across town from me, and the doctors were in a totally different part of town as well. There was a lot of potential for stress and skipping workouts, but with T-Tapp I just did the "Basic Workout Plus" on those days where I was stretched for time, and still my blood pressure kept coming down and headaches were at bay. The program is so easy to fit in even the busiest of days. It only takes 15 minutes!!

Teresa Tapp came to my town during the challenge, and it was wonderful meeting her (and the pups) in person and being able to bring a friend along with me that is now T-Tapping, too. Teresa stayed two and a half hours teaching and answering everyone's questions during the session that was scheduled for one hour. She is a very giving person.

The one-month challenge was filled with so much success, and I learned that I can keep it up and improve my health, strength, and fitness level even more. I'm looking forward to being so much more active with my kids this coming summer vacation and even getting into a swimsuit. Of course I'm thankful that I have a few more months for that last one :-). Thank you so much for the gift of health!
