Less to Lose + Health Improvements - Under 50 Category

Mary S.

My primary goal in entering the January Jumpstart contest was to establish the habit of exercising on a regular basis. I did Step it to the Max every other day during the four week challenge except the two weeks I was ill. I didn't give up my newly established habit because of my illness and instead, I went back to every other day with Step it to the Max.

My secondary goal was to achieve any level of health improvements. That's a lot to hope for in such a short period of time especially since had missed two of the four weeks. In particular, I was hoping for some improvement with my prolapse which was severe and limiting my lifestyle. I was planning to have surgery, which I really didn't want to do since it's permanent and has its drawbacks, when I decided to see if doing January Jumpstart could help. I had intended to do Put Organs in Place and Half Frogs every day, but I only remembered to do it three times during the challenge. However, Step t to the Max must have beneficial movements in it as well since my prolapse is no longer severe enough to warrant surgery.

Additionally, I've noticed that my eyes aren't as dry. My doctor had said that my tight neck an shoulders were preventing proper blood flow to my head. The exercise must have helped with the blood flow since my eyes are better and I'm able to focus better as well.

Before I took my final measurements, I considered not bothering to complete my entry because I had done so little exercise. I decided to complete the tasks anyway and I'm glad I did. I was pleasantly surprised with the improvement in my waist.

Thank you for hosting the challenge! It's been a great benefit to me and I appreciate your efforts!
