Each year in January, we are blasted with so many TV commercials and radio ads about weight loss programs. People get gift cards and join gyms across the country as part of their resolution to lose weight. It is BIG business. In fact, I was approached just before Christmas to look into a fundraiser (as a stocking stuffer) for a high school club – it was getting people to buy a gym membership card and a portion of the money would be donated to the club. Last year I ate a banana that had a sticker that hinted about losing weight; this year, it was an email from a parent for a fundraiser about losing weight.
This made me think of the January Jump Start Contest and decided that after the holidays I would get back on track with T-tapp (not a gift card gym membership). I checked the T-Tapp website in December, 2010 and never saw the January Jump Start Contest being offered. However, much to my surprise and delight I received an email in January that mentioned the JJS Contest was going to start again. YEAH!!
Some of my friends tell me that they cannot exercise alone as I do and need to join others in a “gym” atmosphere to keep their accountability. Unlike my friends, what I love is that I can work alone at my own pace, don’t have to meet friends at a gym, don’t have to worry about driving in bad weather, and can do a quick work-out to start my day from home. But then again, this requires self-discipline. I keep a daily log of my exercises done, and it has kept me accountable.
Recently, I attended a baby shower. (I am going to be a first-time grandmother soon!) One of my longtime friends whom I had not seen for a few years mentioned that she noticed I lost weight. I felt like I was at a T-tapp home party as I explained to about 6 ladies my T-Tapp story. Again, they wanted to hear more; but it was not “my” day, so I will be meeting with them later to share more about T-tapp. A captive audience sometimes appears when you least expect it.
I also introduced two friends – another teacher and a chiropractor’s wife to T-Tapp. Others have commented about my weight loss – actually inches lost. My daughter and her friend (both 19 at the time) put on the T-Tapp Basic Workout Plus tape and had a hard time finishing it even though they are in good shape. They were so impressed that I did these exercises daily and actually finished them!
As a teacher at a local homeschool co-op, I like to “incorporate” a few T-Tapp exercises with my Computer Keyboarding students to help release the shoulder and neck stress of sitting so long and typing. Right now I am trying to develop some geography lessons using some T-Tapp exercises so my students will be learning about our world and exercising at the same time! If you are interested, I would be glad to share some of these lessons with you when they are done.
Last year I only did the Basic Workout Plus. This year, I not only did the Basic Workout Plus but, I also added Step Away the Inches 4-5 times a week to lose inches in torso area. I found it more challenging to do the January Jump Start Contest this time around. We had family birthdays, Valentine’s Day party, baby showers and visitors, which I did not have to deal with last year. I also missed 3 days of exercising due to traveling away for a weekend family get-together. In spite of that, I still lost inches! I am also using some T-Tapp beauty products that have helped my skin and energy level. Many of these products I learned about at the Beauty Boot Camp last year. It has made me realize that inner beauty is as important as outer beauty. Obviously, this is true because of the comments I am receiving from others. How rewarding!
Last year my motto was “A New You at 62!” Wearing a 1974 exercise outfit in my photos made good laughs for everyone, including me. If chosen, I am going bring my ‘74 outfit to Florida, along with a sweatband and leggings we used to use and share the “Let’s Get Physical” (Olive Newton-John) days with these “young’ins” and show them exercise attire during the pre-T-Tapp days! OMG, how lucky we are to have Theresa!! (As a side note, my outfit this year is a bit more updated!) Now my newest motto for inches lost is “Less of Me at 63!”
Thanks for giving me a new lease on life. I am having a lot of fun sharing about T-Tapp and letting others know that there is a program that does work and helping others believe that they, too, can do this program.
Also, a big thank you to Teresa for her wonderful vision, the T-Tapp staff, and especially to Kitty who had to conquer the website glitches during the last final days. And also a “thank you” to Cheryl, my cousin, who introduced me last year to T-Tapp. It has been truly a blessing for so many of us!
