Teresa R.
My journey with T-Tapp began in December 2007. However, I have struggled greatly over the years with staying on track and exercising regularly. I would set high goals for myself and then when I encountered a set back I would just quit. I couldn't accept that I had messed up my schedule so I wouldn't bother continuing. A few months would pass without exercising, I would become discouraged with the state of my body and lack of energy so I would start again by setting high goals and repeat the cycle of quitting. This pattern continued to repeat itself. I lacked the ability to motivate myself and to set realistic goals even though T-Tapp quickly gave me the results I desired.
Forward to December 2009, my body begins to break down. Initially, I attributed my issues to physically over extending myself as our family, in just a three-week period, prepared to sell our home, packed and moved. However, after a few months of being settled in our new home and catching up on sleep, my issues did not disappear, they continued to get worse. I began to experience headaches; massive tension ran down the left hand side of my body from my neck, to my shoulder blade and extended to my arm and my wrist developed tendonitis. I was completely crooked and out of alignment. I began seeing a physiotherapist weekly to rehabilitate my wrist but after four months there was little progress. During this time, I was not T-Tapping at all. I would walk for exercise but that was it.
Finally in November 2010, I returned to Teresa's book Fit and Fabulous, and saw a glimmer of hope as I read the success stories of other T-Tappers who had managed to alleviate their pain through T-Tapp. I decided to try to rehabilitate my body from the inside out. I purchased a new workout, ordered some Alfalfa and the Pyruvyl Glycine for the first time. I reviewed the instructionals and slowly got started with BWO+ however with the busyness of the holidays it was hard to be consistent but didn't quit. When I read about the January Jump Start competition I knew that I had to enter. I needed to provide myself with some accountability and finally commit to giving T-Tapp the opportunity to heal my broken body.
It has been a long journey but I am thrilled to report that after just four weeks my body is fixing itself from the inside out just as it has for other Tappers. I am no longer experiencing headaches. The tension in the left hand side of my body has greatly diminished and I have less pain in both my shoulder and wrist. My body is slowly working to realign itself and that is evident in my photos. I was shocked to see, that in just four weeks, there could be such a dramatic improvement in the alignment of my shoulders.
For the challenge, I used the BWO+ and the TWO. I rested for fourteen days during the challenge and now believe with confidence that Teresa's statement "Less is More" is truly accurate. I did not change my eating at all. Given my past history of quitting when things got a bit rocky, I decided that I would only incorporate the exercise and not worry yet about the food. My eating during this challenge was actually worse than normal as we had company for a total of thirteen days during the challenge. Company in our house always means more food, wine and sweets than normal. I look forward to incorporating Teresa's GM/MM food guidelines into our house and seeing the positive benefits for my family.
I am thrilled with the results that I achieved in just four weeks through this challenge but more importantly I am changed within. For the first time, in a very long time, I believe Teresa Tapp's phrase "Yes, You Can!" It resonates through my head daily and motivates me to challenge myself further, in all aspects of my life, to be all that I was designed and called to be.
Thank you Teresa for the opportunity to participate in this challenge and for sharing your wealth of knowledge. Thank you Kitty for fielding all of our emails and dealing with all of the technical glitches that came your way.
I am very proud to call myself a T-Tapper for life!!
