More to Lose + Health Improvements - Under 50 Category

Victoria S.

I'd like to share with you my T-Tapp experience so far. I read about T-Tapp more than once in a women's magazine several years ago, to be honest I'm not even sure which one and was intrigued. I ordered the book from Amazon and immediately read it. I thought wow this seems great but I don't think at my size I could do it and put it on my bookshelf. I own nearly every weightloss/exercise type book it seems and have quite a collection of them. I forgot about it!

I once again read about T-Tapp in a magazine and thought it sounded familiar and looked to see if I had the book. This was in 2008 I believe as this was the year my house was flooded and everything was in disarray and packed in boxes. Once again I was intrigued enough to order the book. At some point during this time I looked at the website and signed up for the newsletter. When I would get them I often would look at the website again, I think I even ordered the sample/seminar DVD. Something about it called me and yet I didn't do anything.

Fast forward to late 2010 and a email came from T-Tapp. By this time I am considering some drastic measures to lose weight (like surgery) and spent some time reading the site. I noticed that there was a trainer offering classes in MN not too far from where my daughter goes to college and I thought maybe sometime there will be a session I can make work when I go to visit her.

I got home from a family vacation on January 5th with a plan to find something to start getting in better shape and lose weight. Early the next week I went on the T-Tapp website once again and found that Jen Klever was having a T-Tapp class on January 15th and I decided to take a chance and give her a call. Two days later I am at a church in Ham Lake Minnesota learning about T-Tapp. I found that while it is hard to do some of the things at my size, I actually could do it. I was very excited to try it and spent some time talking with her and found out about the challenge and decided to join. I bought the More DVD and brushing kit and wanted to get started.

Well my plans went awry several days later. My right foot was so sore I finally went to the foot Dr. diagnosis of severely inflamed Achilles tendons in both feet with a sprain/tear in the right one. We decided on a physical therapy course of action for two weeks and if no significant improvement, I would be wearing a boot. Dr orders no walking other than absolute necessity, ice often and therapy. The first day of therapy was Jan 19, my physical therapist told me later that she expected I would be in a boot in a few days it was so inflamed. I emailed Jen and explained what was going on and said I probably couldn't do the challenge. She encouraged me to take a look at the chair exercises on the More DVD and give it a try.

I did my pictures and measured late in the afternoon on start day. I then put the DVD in and said ok I hope this does something, but I was certain it wouldn't produce the results I wanted or any inch loss at all for that matter. The chair portion of the DVD is not lengthy so I thought this isn't enough to hardly bother with.

One of my big goals was to lower my blood sugar as it has been too high and I started monitoring closely in January. My blood sugar hit 214 one time early the week the challenge started and I knew I'd be considered a type 2 diabetic if a Dr saw that, and that is something I am desperate to avoid! That was a wake up call to take things seriously. I continued with the chair T-Tapp but not everyday. As my foot started to heal I would test a standing sequence but still wasn't able to do it.

In mid February I had another trip to Minnesota scheduled (it's about a four hour drive) so I met Jen again for a short time to learn more and try some standing T-Tapp and have my form checked. I had checked my blood sugar shortly before she came to my hotel room and it was in the mid 150's. She showed me several things and I tried them but with modification due to my foot. I did two sets of Hoe Downs to the best of my ability, though not perfect or fast. I checked my blood sugar immediately and it was down a few points but I was disappointed and figured I still wasn't able to do it well enough. I then though maybe it takes a few minutes to actually start to show up. Twenty minutes later I checked again and it had dropped 30 more points!!!!! I knew then I needed to really work at this and would see results.

For a few days I did the More dvd instructionals but after physical therapy I was again ordered to do no standing exercise so I went back to the chair. When the challenge came to a end on Sunday I had no expectation of any inches lost and about fell off the chair to see more than twelve inches gone in 30 days without doing the whole program. In the last two weeks my blood sugar has been consistently dropping and my blood pressure is down slightly as well. I can't wait to jump in and do more and see the results to come in the future as my foot heals and my body get stronger. T-Tapp is going to help me avoid the big D and shrink to live the life I want
