Hello, I am Dan Wiley and my wife (Phyllis) and I live in Middletown Delaware.
I have participated in organized and recreational sports since fourth grade and fitness activity has always been part of my lifestyle. When we married in 1983, we decided to make fitness a family activity and joined a local health club. I participated in group fitness classes, weight training and jogging. I had been jogging a minimum of 20 miles/week to maintain my fitness level. I ran 3 marathons and numerous 5k and 10k charitable races.
My wife first started T-Tapp in 2003. When I saw her working out, I just didn’t get it. How could working out with no weights, no bands, and no jumping produce fitness results? What was she thinking? Even though I started seeing changes to her body, I was convinced that my running program was still the best fitness activity for me.
In Oct, 2005 my wife asked if I would join her in a T-Tapp event at Safety Harbor Florida. I agreed to go. In the back of my mind, I thought, I would do a couple workouts, go to the pool, maybe get in a fishing trip and enjoy being in the sunshine.
I had only completed Instructional 1 once before arriving in Safety Harbor. I was immediately greeted by trainers, staff and fellow T-Tappers who made me feel welcome even though I was one of two men in a group of about 130 woman. I was quick to see the group represented every size, body type and fitness level and everyone seemed to have a success story they where willing to share.
Before my first class, I was thinking, I can’t let these ladies out perform me but was quickly humbled by the intensity of the seemingly simple moves. I can’t thank the instructors enough for working with me to correct form and sharing their knowledge throughout the entire weekend. I continued working out with everyone and totally forgot about my plans to fish or sit around the pool. I was tired but I noticed that my muscles were not exhausted or as fatigued as I expected. At the end of the weekend, I had lost 4.75 inches throughout my chest (back fat), abs and waist. I was totally impressed with the workout. Additionally, I was experiencing better flexibility and movement in joints that have been limited from previous sport injuries. I finally GOT IT.
The Safety Harbor T-Tapp event has shown me a new way to fitness. T-Tapp is a program that is universal to every body type and fitness level. T-Tapp is not just a workout for today; it is a way to improve life for tomorrow.
